Audley Weir has had it’s fourth day in a row of closure due to flooding. The pattern has been heavy rain overnight triggering the flooding with limited rain during the day with the weir reopening on the same day. Officially the weir closed on Friday 5 July at 4:09am and reopened later in the day at 7:44pm.

Audley Weir has had it’s fifteenth flooding event for 2024 making it three days in a row of closures and reopenings. Officially the weir closed on Thursday 4 July at 3:26am and reopened on the same day at 11:34am.
Closure Report (2024-July-03 to 2024-July-03)
Audley Weir has had it’s fourteenth flooding event for 2024 just a day since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Wednesday 3 July at 5:13am. Delays reopening McKell Ave, which is undergoing constructions works, meant some commuters had to be diverted via Helensburgh. The weir reopened the same day at 5:20pm.

Audley Weir has had it’s thirteenth flooding event for 2024 over a week since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Monday 1 July at 11:38pm and reopened Tuesday 2 July at 11:09am.
Closure Report (2024-June-22 to 2024-Jun-23)
Audley Weir has had it’s twelfth flooding event for 2024 a week since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Saturday 22 June at 8:00am. This weir has been impacted by flooding for the last four weekends. The weir reopened the next day at 12:17pm.

Audley Weir has had it’s eleventh flooding event for 2024 a week since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Saturday 15 June at 2:33am and reopened later in the evening at 10:27pm.
Closure Report (2024-June-06 to 2024-June-09)
Audley Weir has had it’s tenth flooding event for 2024 a couple of days since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Thursday 6 June
7:13am. Drivers weren’t warned about the flooding as a power outage in the area resulted in traffic cameras losing signal. The lack of traffic cameras also resulted in delays to opening of the alternate route via Mckell Ave with some drivers having to drive out via Helensburgh. The weir reopened on Sunday 9 June at 3:38pm.

Audley Weir has had it’s ninth flooding event for 2024 over two weeks since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Saturday 1 June
5:24pm and then reopened 24 hours later at 5:57pm.
Closure Report (2024-May-05 to 2024-May-14)
Audley Weir has had it’s fifth flooding event for 2024 a day since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Sunday 5 May at 1:40pm and reopened Tuesday 7 May at 7:17am. The opening was brief with the weir flooding later that night at 10:59pm before reopening again on Wednesday 8 May at 4:58am only to flood again at 11:33am. The weir eventually reopened on Friday 10 May at 06:09am and was open for the remainder of the day until it closed early on Saturday 11 May at 02:47am. After almost two weeks of daily rain the sky turned blue with the weir reopening on Tuesday 14 May at 10:18am.

A white sedan which had attempted to cross the weir but stalled mid-way with the driver having to abandon the vehicle. The stalled sedan did not put off the driver of a blue SUV which made it’s own successful attempt to cross the weir but had to confront the parked SES vehicle at the end of the weir.

Audley Weir has had it’s fourth flooding event for 2024 a month since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Saturday 4 May at 1:26am and reopened 6 hours later on Saturday 4 May at 7:28am.
Closure Report (2024-April-06 to 2024-April-08)
Audley Weir has had it’s third flooding event for 2024 more then two months since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Saturday 6 April at 12:57am and reopened 2 days later on Monday 8 April at 3:35pm.

The unexpected closure of McKell Ave has further complicated access to and from Bundeena with the alternate road via Waterfall becoming unavailable.
McKell Ave which was reduced to one lane due to a land slip in March 2022 had further damage from Friday’s heavy rains making it unsafe for use.

Road access to and from Bundeena was only possible via Stanwell Tops which would make it a 60km drive to Sutherland taking an hour. Drivers were advised not to travel travel south of Stanwell Tops due to a landslip at Coalcliff which has reduced traffic to one lane.

Audley Weir has had it’s second flooding event for 2024 only a day since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Tuesday 21 February 7:10am and then reopened 4 hours later at 11:10am.

Audley Weir has had it’s first flooding event for 2024 which about two months since it last flooded. Officially the weir closed on Tuesday 20 February 7:02pm and then reopened 2 hours later at 9:51pm.
