A group of Bundeena artists will be exhibitting Recent Works at Hazelhurst Gallery from October 18th to the 28th.
Recent Works is an assembly of six Bundeena artists who express a beauty and heart felt experience of their lives, environment and community. Each artist brings a unique personal perspective to their art. Themes include Life Transition, Landscape, Raising the Standard, Portraits and Relationships, Aliens Ashore and The Creative Journey.
The works will open up perceptions to techniques, applications and approaches to creating art.
Mediums covered are Ink and Pencil drawing, sculpture, found object, painting, photography and mosaic. This exhibition in its diversity offers emerging artist an extensive variety of content, theme and mediums. Guided tours and artist talks are available on request. Bookings essential. All is not as it seems- Our Perspective of what we see is tainted by our experiences and judgments. We often do not notice what to others may be obvious, yet we can not see what they see. And yet some things are universal and seen by all.
Discovering what has previously been unseen is a heart felt experience filled with wonder and awe. Nature’s subtle images continuously surround us; we just need to look through the eyes of the child to see clearly.

Through the Glass is a series of photographs that explores the ethereal landscape, searching for the spiritual, looking through the eyes of the subconscious in a world devoid of real representation.

I am interested in our indigenous culture. They have a lot to offer the mainstream society. My work in this exhibition is away to pay respect to their culture and to encourage the use of their symbolism in our wider cultural emblems.
