The pottery studio Something at Mary’s had an interesting request recently from a visitor to Bundeena who had been looking for a special gift for a very good friend. The friend had a fascination with Jersey cows, (and red wine……) and her house is a testament to this.
After a bit of discussion it was decided on two cows to flag the outdoor patio doors and came up with the concept of the “tipsy guard cows”. Janet and Marion had worked on one cow each (a male, and a female) after Janet had sketched out the idea and prepared an initial maquet. The cows were presented to Robyn on her birthday.
The following comments were overhead at the event.
- “A fantastic Job”
- “Well what a terrific response from not only the party girl but the other 60 odd people at the party. They all fell in love with your cows- they seem to grow on you! Robyn rang me last night to thank me for her beautiful cows- she was really blown away. Bye for now and many thanks.”
