Bundeena NSW Fire Brigade in Victoria
NSW Fire Brigade fire fighters from Bundeena joined 36 other NSW Fire Brigades sent to Victoria to aid in the recent bushfires there.

For 4 days they worked in the Alexandra and Yea area of Victoria mainly putting in fire breaks and maintaining fire containment lines in hilly area’s around these towns.

Not only was it good to go and help out down there but they were able to learn additional valuable skills in bushland and rural fire fighting, the Bundeena crew were able to use the NSWFB 4×4 tanker for their first time as they usually use the standard NSWFB pumper in Bundeena. The fire fighters were also used to put out several spot fires that had occurred as a result of lightening strikes and also were involved in mop up operations in some very hilly and difficult terrain.
