Work has begun on a Audley pontoon and jetty in the Royal National Park.

The Audley Pontoon is a joint project between the National Parks and Wildlife Service and NSW Roads and Maritime Services with funding under the Better Boating Program and will take place from April through to the end of May (weather permitting).

The project aims to decrease the number of car arrivals in Audley and increase the number recreational boaters and kayakers. It is hoped that in future it will become a regular public transport route.

The project includes a jetty, gangway, floating pontoon, and seating area and will add another dimension to the recently revitalised Audley Precinct.

The Pool Flat area at Audley will be partially closed to visitors until Friday 30th May due to the construction and installation of the pontoon and jetty. Land and water access will be restricted around the works site, pedestrian access will still be available in some areas including to the provided picnic tables and toilets.
