Bundeena filmmaker and artist George Gittoes will have his latest film Rampage premiering at this years Sydney Film Festival.

Gittoes who is a highly regarded painter only recently started filmmaking with his debut film Soundtrack to War. In this film he documented the musical tastes and aspirations of a number of American soldiers serving in Iraq. One of soldiers in the film, Elliot Lovett, lead to Gittoes current film Rampage. In it Gittoes documents the trials and tribulations of rappers in the tough streets of Miami’s ghettos. During filming Gittoes was befriended by a number of the locals earning street cred and the nickname Ghettos.

Gittoes involvement with the rappers in Rampage hasn’t ended with the film. One of rappers was Elliiot’s younger 14 year old brother Denzell who is now pursuing a recording contract with some aid from Gittoes. This could lead to a third film so stay tuned!
