Historic Cottage With Water Views

Property Overview

Simpson Cottage Bundeena was built in the 1860s  and was  the original home of the Simpson family, one of the first settlers south of the Hacking River. Sensitively restored, this 3-bedroom cottage provides a unique experience, where you can enjoy the charm of the old cottage and stylish contemporary living with fantastic water and National Park views.

Simpson Cottage Bundeena is perfect accommodation for two small families, couples, a group of friends or mid-week away days for small businesses.

Features

The cottage features three generous bedrooms, accommodating a maximum of 8 people. The main room, located at the front of the cottage, features a queen bed and French doors opening out onto views over the bay.

The second bedroom may be configured as a king bed or two singles, while the third bedroom accommodates up to 4 people in double bunk beds, making it a great room for the kids.

A delightfully cosy sitting room features original features including an open fireplace, high ceilings and French doors opening onto the sandstone paved patio. A modern entertainment system is provided including TV, DVD player and Bose iPod docking station.

A rear extension to the cottage houses a modern kitchen, casual dining area, laundry and bathroom, all with under-floor heating. Kitchen appliances include dishwasher, microwave, large fridge, electric oven cooktop and coffee machine. The adjacent dining area provides a great spot to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun, with a washing machine and clothes dryer neatly concealed in storage cupboards. The spacious bathroom features a freestanding bath and separate shower.

A few steps from the cottage patio, an equally cosy dining gazebo seats up to 8 people, providing fantastic views over the bay. A ceiling fan and heater are provided in the gazebo.

The Garden

Simpson Cottage is situated high above Bonnie Vale Beach, set in 1500m2 of lawns and gardens that blend gently into the natural landscape. A large timber picnic table is located below the cottage to take advantage of the beautiful setting. Visitors will enjoy cooking up a feast on the patio with a modern gas burner BBQ (spare gas bottles provided).

When you're ready for adventure, a 50m track leads down the hill directly to Bonnie Vale Beach and the Royal National Park below. The National Park and other local sites are accessible via a short drive - off-street parking is available for up to two cars.
