Lachlan Dansie who grew up in Bundeena has won the inaugural 24 Hour Enduro Obstacle Course Racing World Championship.

The race was held in the Sydney suburb of Lower Portland in early June and involved numerous elite athletes in the sport from across the world.

Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), which races such as the Tough Mudder are based on, involves participants traveling on foot having to overcome various physical challenges in the form of obstacles. Obstacles may include climbing over walls, carrying heavy objects, traversing bodies of water, crawling under barbed wire, and jumping through fire.

The 24 Hour Enduro OCR World Championship race required participants to travel for up to 24 hours around a 11km course with 30 obstacles. The athlete who has covered the furthest distance over 24 hours is declared the winner.
