A heavy swell on Wednesday knocked a boat off it’s moorings at Gunyah Beach in Bundeena with dire consequences.
Maianbar Powerline Upgrade
Ausgrid has started works to replace the existing powerline servicing Maianbar.
The existing overhead powerlines to Maianbar run from Burraneer over the Port Hacking River and are supported by three poles at each end which are 22 metres tall. A new single pole solution at each end which are 32 metres high will replace the three poles.
The additional 10 metre height was required to avoid the potential for large marine vessels to strike the powerlines as had previously occurred with a yacht’s mast.
