Wet weather and speed are suspected factors in a head on collision which injured three people near Bundeena on Sunday.

Emergency Services were called to Bundeena Dr, Bundeena around 5.15pm on Sunday 27 January 2013, after a Toyota Landcruiser towing a trailer and being driven by a 27 year old Quakers Hill female collided head on in the path of a Mistubishi Mirage being driven by a 23 year old Petersham female.
 
It is alleged the Toyota was travelling north on Bundeena Dr lost control and collided into the Mirage travelling south when the accident happened on the final bend prior to the township of Bundeena. Police allege it took the Landcruiser about 20mtrs to come to a stop after the collision.
 
It took around 3 and a half hours for emergency services to extricate the Mirage driver who was trapped in her vehicle, clear the roadway and clean the oil from the road before it was reopened.
 
The Mirage driver was taken to St George Hospital suffering from a suspected fractured and dislocated ankle, a burn to her forearm and bruising across the chest.
 
The 60 year old passenger in the Mirage was taken to St George Hospital after suffering from a suspected fractured sternum.
 
The 51 year old Hornsby right rear passenger of the Landcruiser was taken to Sutherland Hospital after suffering from a suspected broken rib and chest pains.
 
No other person required hospitalisation.
