New emergency warnings
measures are being put in place in Bundeena for the upcoming bushfire season.

Bundeena residents will take part in one of 4 NSW tests of the Emergency Alert this Sunday 13th December 2009. The message will consist of voice alert on landline phones and text messaging on mobiles. It is crucial that recipients do not call 000 for information on the trial. Only call 000 if you are in need of emergency assistance. Recipients may be contacted at random at the conclusion of the trial to participate in a survey. For further information residents can go to www.emergency.nsw.gov.au.

Bundeena Bush Fire Brigade has recently received the new fire danger indicator board located at the front of the station. The board will be used to show trends in fire danger changes and days of Total Fire Bans. Residents should note the new Catastrophic rating and familiarize themselves with it and other ratings and the appropriate action to take. Look for more information in your letterbox this week of go to www.rfs.gov.nsw.au.

The brigade will be holding an information morning in conjunction with the markets to be held in the carpark adjacent to the IGA this Saturday the 12th  December. Come down have a sausage sandwich and get some information from Bundeena firefighters on your bush fire survival plan.
