The votes are in as we analyse the Bundeena Info Rufferendum results.
The Rufferendum was conducted between June 15th to 19th with the latter date coinciding with Sutherland Shire Council's deadline for vote submissions of the survey it is conducting regarding off-leash areas for dogs in the Bundeena Maianbar area.
A breakdown of the voting shows that 9% want to remove dog off-leash areas all together (Option 2) and 9% want to maintain the status quo of current hours and access limited to Horderns beach (Option 1).
The overwhelming majority of 82% though wanted increased access to dog off-leash areas either in the form of increased hours (Option 3) or increased hours and areas (Options 4 & 5).
The other interest of note was that voting between dog and non-dog owners was almost evenly split which gives the indication that even non-dog owners want increased access for dog off-leash areas.
With the closing date for submissions to Council's survey passed the next phase will involve the creation of a report outlining a range of options which will be submitted to Council who will then make the final decision.
