Clr Spencer Report Bob Spencer reported to the meeting that our discussion with Des Hewitt at our last meeting had been effective. The parking arrangements in the shopping centre will remain as it is. There will be a slight delay to the starting date. He also said that council had agreed to the construction of a boardwalk to form part of the footpath on the western side of the street. As a result of Bob's lobbying, council allocated $250,000 for its construction
Bob reported that as a result of Paul McLeay's request, John Watkins, Minister for Transport came to Bundeena on Tuesday last, to inspect the state of the wharf. He announced that the state government would contribute half of the cost of the new wharves at Bundeena and Cronulla. Council will meet the other half of the cost.
More good news was that the parking area at the rear of the community centre would be retained in the new plan for the Oval Park.
The meeting thanked Bob for his efforts in helping to get such a good deal for Bundeena.
