The vital pedestrian link connecting Bundeena and Maianbar will be closed for 10 months.

The closure is a result of Sydney Water’s plans to replace a section of the old water main located in the Royal National Park. The section being replaced is between the Bonnie Vale camping grounds and Cabbage Tree Creek. The planned work will also involve replacing the footbridge which runs over the creek. The work will be performed in stages and will have to be scheduled around tidal and weather conditions.

The closure affects both the footbridge and walking track in Bonnie Vale which connects the two communities. The closure occurs 24 hours per day from Mondays to Saturdays and will run from September 5th  til mid 2008. However, the track will be open on Sundays, public holidays and Christmas and January school holidays.

Sydney Water will be holding an information day about the project on Sunday September 2nd
between 10am and 2pm in the car park at Pacific Crescent, Maianbar.

Further inquiries can be made by contacting Helena Orel on 9350 5511.
