The on again off again boat launch plans for Bonnie Vale are on again.
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service has released a document of proposed amendments which would allow for a boat launch to be part of the management plan for Bonnie Vale. The amendments call for a "board and chain" launch setup for small boats with a driveway that vehicles would reverse into. Additionally, the amendments allow for up to 10 car and boat trailer parking spaces to service the launch facility.
The amendments are part of an overall initiative by NSW state to have more people using parks, sporting and recreational facilities, and participating in the arts and cultural activity.
The public is invited to submit comments on the amendments by Monday October 13th 2008 in writing to:
Planning Officer National Parks and Wildlife Service PO Box 44 SUTHERLAND NSW 1499
Once the submission date closes the amendments and submissions are referred to NPWS Advisory Council for consideration. The Advisory Council then refers all documents and recommendations to the Minister of Climate Change, Environment & Water as well as the Regional Advisory Committee which has 30 days to make any further comments. The Minister can then adopt the amendments or refer it back to the Director General of the Department and the Advisory Council for further consideration.
