Bundeena Art of Living

The 13th annual Bundeena Maianbar Art of Living Festival will combine music, markets and a variety of workshops to create an action packed day for all on Sunday March 9th.

The festival kicks off Friday March 7th with the opening of the art exhibition at Bundeena's  Community Hall. This year's feature artist is Leanne Thompson who works in a variety of mediums including painting and sculpture. As well Bundeena Maianbar's other celebrated artists such as Garry Shead, Bob Marchant, Robert Willson and Jiawei Shen along with a number of other upcoming ones will have works on display. The night will wrapup with an After Party at Club Bundee.

Sunday March 9th is the big day and will feature a full musical lineup with something to suit all tastes. This year's headliner acts are Sydney's ska sensation Kingtide, blues rock musician Carra and Brazilian samba kings Matanza. A full compliment of bands ranging from jazz and blues to country will round out the lineup.

One noticeable change from past years is the workshops will also be held on the Sunday alongside the market and musical concerts. The workshops will be broken up into two groups. The first group requires participants to preregister and will take place at various venues around Bundeena.  These workshops will include presentations on Aboriginal culture, making garden sculptures, yoga and story telling.

The second group of workshops will take place on site at the Community Centre Park under a specially erected marquee.  No preregistration is

required for these workshops and they will include kayak demonstrations, colour therapy and a chance for participants to make their own bowl on a pottery wheel!
